WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

Yes. Almost every body area with fat can be treated. This includes the abdomen, arms, legs, inner and outer thighs, Chin love handles and bra bulges. These treatments take approximately 30 minutes with the newer protocols and advantage hand pieces.

HOW LONG DOES COOLSCULPTING TAKE?

CoolSculpting treatments typically take between 35 minutes to an hour, depending on how many areas and how many different areas you choose to treat. Since we use the CoolSculpting Elite, which is better, faster, stronger, and newer. This allows for treatments to take only 35 minutes. The original CoolSculpting protocols, which are the older ones, took almost an hour. The exceptions to this is the CoolSculpting Mini, which takes about 45 minutes and the CoolSculpting Smooth, which is for the outer thighs and non pinchable areas. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes to treat since it’s hard for this area to be sectioned in. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE TREATED FAT?

The treated fat ends up being processed out naturally like digestion. This is why it’s important to have appropriate kidney function and liver function. Most of this can take weeks to months, although we have some expedited protocols when we combine CoolSculpting with other modalities.

Are there any incisions or injections for CoolSculpting?

No. CoolSculpting is considered a noninvasive technique that does not involve any exterior scars. Coolsculpting does not use any injections either. We do combine CoolSculpting with other modalities which may involve small incisions. But for the most part, CoolSculpting by itself has no incisions.

Who is an ideal candidate for Coolsculpting?

Patients who have an area that is resistant to weight loss, that person is a great candidate for. Coolsculpting. Patients who are more than 30 pounds overweight can still get benefits or they may receive less of an effect. Patient’s 50 pounds overweight often should try diet and exercise before getting CoolSculpting.

Many patients have common areas that despite proper areas of exercise and nutrition persist, and this includes arm fat, lower abdominal fat, love handles, inner and outer thighs. Patients’ problem areas are often the best areas to be treated.

Can a beer belly be treated with CoolSculpting?

It just really depends on what you define by what a beer belly is. If there’s pinchable soft fat this is the area that is best for you with CoolSculpting. Areas that are firm and deeper are called visceral fat. These are the fat that surrounds your organs. This type of fat often is not responsive to CoolSculpting. Interestingly enough, CoolTone and Emsculpt have shown some reduction in visceral fat on ultrasound studies.

What Happens to the skin post CoolSculpting?

The skin in after CoolSculpting often is not Mousse because college and is deposited. This has been shown in several ultrasound studies and several other areas where the skin actually becomes thicker, which is a benefit to the patient because it reduces fat and has firmer, tighter skin.

Are there any prior surgeries I could have that would make me a contraindication?

Patients you’ve had hernia mesh in the abdomen should not be treated with suction applicators. Applicators that don’t involve suctions such as CoolSmooth, may be used. Areas outside of the Hernia Mesh can also be treated.

Are there any medical contraindications to CoolSculpt?

Patients taking blood thinners may not be good candidates for CoolSculpting. Patients with compromised renal function and other disorders that are affected by cold, such as Raynaud’s phenomena and cryoglobulinemia can also have adverse effects.
